We had a successful art workshop last Saturday, where autistic kids and their family members painted/glazed their family clay hand print plaques. The family project enabled kids to gain a strong sense of self, identity, kinship and family. They also had the opportunity to make new friends similar to them, and spend time with their family members working on a fun family project together.
Students also took the opportunity to complete other projects that they had previously started.
