Focus Comics are proud to announce that we will be launching a free 4 week military vehicle art program featuring Focus the autistic super hero. The online programming and in person graduation event will take place in celebration of autism acceptance month. This specific program is for autistic and or special needs kids and youth ages 6 years to 21 years of age in Arizona. Participants are not required to attend every class, and they are not required to attend the graduation event for this program.

What will we draw? – Desert patrol vehicle (US Navy) – C-130 Hercules (US Air Force) – Vma231 Ace of Spades at sea AV-8B Harrier II plus (US Marines)

Pictures above and below represent what we will be drawing using pencils, long and short ruler, black marker, eraser, and any coloring pens or pencils you have at home. Please do not color the drawing for week 1 as Yvonne Wan (Focus comic creator) will color the graduates art from week 1 professionally to make it look like a Focus comic cover. Students joining after 7th April will still get a certificate of achievement but it won’t be colored digitally, it will feature colors by the student using traditional mediums.

There will be free military; first responder and Focus gifts plus Blick art supplies gifts for the graduates, Hero of the Year Awards and free Habit Burger Food Truck at the graduation event. There will also be other fun activities at the event including first responder vehicles. The students art work will be placed on a custom certificate of achievement that will resemble a Focus comic cover. The certificates will be displayed at the comic store alongside many great comics for the general public to appreciate as part of a free public exhibition. On the day of the graduation, our students will get to meet their local heroes including military and first responders. The U.S Air Force, US Army, US Marines, U.S. Navy, The Maricopa Sheriffs Department and Rural metro Fire service will have an official presence at our event. We look forward to having Sergeant Levi Marler and others at the event as a guest speaker.

Special Vehicles at the event for our students to explore on the day: Rural Metro Fire Engine; Maricopa County sheriff’s office Police Vehicle, SWAT vehicle, police motor cycle (vehicles depend on availability). A K9 dog might also make an appearance depending on availability.

More details about the graduation event will be updated on this page soon.

Program Dates online (Zoom): April 7, 14 and 21st. The regular group class will be at 2pm for 40minutes. The beginner group classes will be at 3.30pm. Flat bed Scans of the students art work is due within 48 hours of class. If students do not have a scanner, they may use one at the public library, Office Max or Fed ex. Alternatively, they may drop the art work off to the teacher in Avondale. Scans are needed so we can track our students progress, provide feedback and exhibit our students artwork online and at the comic store.
