** The award ceremony is open to all first responders / vets / military and their family. Attendees do not need to be nominated but they will need to email us to add themselves to the guest list so we can anticipate how many people will be there, and also how many meals to prepare. We want our autistic and special needs students to meet our local heroes at the free military vehicle art program graduation. Please come along to meet our students and enjoy the free food and entertainment. There will be a limited number of gifts for those who arrive early and attend in uniform.
Focus comics champions super heroes and real life heroes! We are proud to present 9 Focus comic Hero of the year awards to 9 honorable individuals this year. We will be accepting nominations from now through to April 26th 2024. If you would like to nominate a first responder, military veteran or those in active duty in Arizona, please drop us an email with their contact information. You may nominate more than one person for different occupational categories.
The finalists and their family / friends will be invited to a prestigious award ceremony where they will receive a Focus comic Hero of the Year trophy, meet our young autistic and special needs students at our free military art program graduation event and receive complimentary Habit burger catering at our venue: Samurai comics in Glendale Arizona on Saturday 27 April 2024 10am. Habit burger will have a free food truck serving at the event on the day and Focus comics will have prizes for its student graduates and local heroes.
This event is completely free for autistic and special needs students participating in the art program, military and first responders and their family.

If you are planning on joining our celebration and complimentary food, all you have to do is email [email protected] with your name, whether you are military/vet or first responder; party size (and the names of your family members if they are joining you) to add you and your family to the guest list. Complimentary food is limited to the first 300 people to arrive. People on the guest list will be served first. We would like as many military, and first responders to be present to celebrate our students accomplishments. Uniform is preferred but not mandatory.
The complimentary food truck can serve a maximum of 300 people, so please arrive 10am sharp.
