Autistic and Special needs kids on Diversity and inclusion in comics – Focus Loves Tempe Week 5

We are into the final week of the Focus loves Tempe art program for special needs and autistic kids. The students had an in person presentation class with Focus comics at Brandons comics store in Tempe. Yvonne Wan gave the students two presentation exercises about the meaning of diverse comic super heroes in their lives. They were asked to identify a diverse super hero that they can relate to. They were also asked to explain why they like the super hero, and how the super hero impacts self perception and perception of others.

Yvonne filmed the students responses as the students presented the answers in class. The kids did great and it helped improve their presentation skills and self confidence in speaking in front of an audience.
