Autistic and special needs kids present their Focus comic strips and explain what the art and super hero means to them. Focus loves Tempe week 5

We are in the final week of the “Focus loves Tempe” free art program for autistic and special needs kids. This week, our students had an in person class with Focus comic.

Yvonne Wan gave the students two presentation exercises about the meaning of diverse comic super heroes in their lives. One of the students presentation exercises included presenting and describing the ideas and meaning associated with their Focus comic strip to the class, explaining who Focus is, the significance of an autistic super hero, what the children like about their art and why they like the Focus comic loves Tempe free art program for autistic and special needs kids.

Many thanks to Yvonne Wan (the creator of Focus and award winning artist) for leading the class, filming and editing the content to raise awareness of what super heroes mean to special needs kids. Many thanks to Douglas Hebert, certified art teacher for over 12 years for providing support. We covered aspects of the Arizona art curriculum in class. Feel free to watch the children present their art by hitting play.
