Free Super Hero art class on Zoom for Beaverton kids.
Want to learn how to draw yourself as a Beaverton super hero/ heroine? Sign up for a free zoom class on how to draw yourself as a comic book hero/heroine. The creator of Focus comic which features one of the worlds first autistic super heroes will be leading a two part class on drawing super heroes. You will learn how to draw yourself as a valued team member of the Secret Lineage, a super hero team with diverse backgrounds. In the first class, you will learn about pencil art, composition, basic figure drawing and character design. You will create a pencil sketch of yourself as super hero. You will also learn how to draw Focus the autistic super hero, his elk, Beaver and Red Robin friend in Beaverton. In the second class, you will learn how how to ink your art comic book style. You will also color your art using coloring pencils.
Materials you will need for the first class: Pencil, paper, eraser.
Materials you will need for the second class: thick black marker (such as sharpie), thin black marker (thin sharpie, or copic multi-liner 0.5, or black ball point pen if you don’t have a thin black maker), ruler, coloring pencils.
Optional materials: Clip board (to avoid staining your table). White Gelly roll pen 0.8 (which will make the eyes shine). Derwent blender pencil and Derwent burnisher to make the coloring pencils look smooth and shiny.
Class format: Zoom video conferencing
Please use recycled paper if you have that to hand otherwise regular paper will do.
Class duration:
Each class will be 40-60 minutes in duration depending on the pace of the students.
Class dates: Saturday December 5th & 12th 2020.
Time:
Students between 6-8 years old: 2pm – 3pm
Students between 9-16 years of age: 4pm -5pm
You don’t have to attend both classes on both dates although it would be great if you are able to attend both.
This class is suitable for kids of all abilities 6-16 years of age.
