We are proud to announce that the Focus Comic Virtual Winter festival is taking place Saturday and Sunday 18 and 19 December for Arizonian kids with autism and special needs kids between 6-14 years of age.
Who is Focus? Focus is one of the worlds first autistic super heroes featured in Focus comic. Focus comic features art by professionals plus autistic interns.
Our programming for the Focus Comic Virtual Winter Festival include:
- Free visual art workshops with Focus Comic Creator Yvonne Wan teaching along side certified art teacher and comic artist Douglas Hebert.
- Free performing art workshop: fun pirate voice acting workshop with Hollywood celebrity Kevin McNally, known for his role in Pirates of the Caribbean and Dr Who.
During the Focus comic winter festival we will announce the winner of the Artist of the Year award based on the art submissions and voice acting abilities of our attendees. There will be three prestigious Focus comic trophies up for grabs.
There will also be an opportunity to win electronics, art supplies and Focus merchandize.

Time: 2pm – 3.40 (there will be a 20 minute break between 2.40 and 3pm)

WORKSHOP 1: How to create a Focus Winter holiday Card: Learn how to draw Focus the autistic super hero celebrating the holidays with his ginger bread friends. Please submit your scanned art after class for a chance to win awards and cool prizes. Winners will be announced Sunday 19 December by Yvonne Wan and Kevin McNally on zoom.
Art supplies needed: 1 sheet of paper (ideally 8.5×11 inch cardstock), pencil, ruler, eraser, marker, and colors (coloring pencils or markers). A 1cent and 25cent coin to trace around.
Sunday 19 December
Time: 10am to 10.40am
Time zone: Phoenix Arizona Time.
WORKSHOP 2: How to talk like a Pirate voice acting workshop: Learn how to be an awesome voice actor with Hollywood actor Kevin McNally, known for being in Pirates of the Caribbean and Dr Who. There will be prizes for the best voice actors in class.
Time: 2pm – 3.40 (there will be a 20 minute break between 2.40 and 3pm)
