We are proud to announce that we are hosting a Focus comic free winter festival this year, where autistic and special needs kids and youth (ages 7-16) can participate in our free online art programming for 2 weeks on how to draw Focus celebrating the winter holidays with his military friends.
The finalists will be invited to attend a special Focus Comic Winter festival Awards ceremony in Avondale (Aventura Apartments Club house on Dec 3, 10am), where our finalists will receive a certificate of achievement that resembles a printed comic cover (featuring their art); and cool prizes. We will have local hero guests from the military and local fire department attending the event and banquet. They will be in the class of 2022 photo for the Winter festival and present our students with their certificates and prizes. Those attending may also take photos with the fire truck. Participants who do not make it to the finalist selection, will receive a digital certificate of achievement with their art on it.
We are one of the first in the comic industry to host a prestigious Artist of the year award trophy for autistic and special needs kids. We will be giving away 3 Artist of the year trophies to 3 young artists this year.
In addition to this, this is our first year where we will be hosting a prestigious ‘Hero of the Year’ Award. 5 local heroes (active military, veterans, first responders ) will be presented with a Hero of the Year 2022 trophy for their good-works in the community. Focus comics are proud to champion autistic and special needs kids, plus super heroes!
