Focus Comic free art camp for autistic kids. Week 25

We are 25 weeks into our Focus comic art camp which is free for kids and young adults with autism.

We had a successful art workshop this week, where students learned about different glazing techniques and different effects. They also learned about color categorization, arithmetic, matching color codes to glazing bottles and more. They painted super hero mugs and snake pots that they made using the Extruder. We used pottery clay and Gault clay for both projects. We also glazed coasters and name plaques using paper clay We invited Mishy Katz as a guest speaker this week to talk about glazes.

The students had the opportunity to make new friends, and the parents were also given the opportunity to network with other parents with similar backgrounds.

Check out the following highlights film:

Teachers: Yvonne Wan (Creator of Focus comic, Writer and Comic artist). Douglas Hebert ( Main Focus comic artist, internship coach, certified art teacher). Guest speaker: Mishy Katz, glazing expert.

Thank you to all our supporters in helping us champion autistic talent. Have a great new year!
