United Humanities Project Hero Award recipient 2026: David Shuler.

We are proud to announce that David Schuler as one of our United Humanities Project Hero Award Recipients within the Marines Category for 2026.


The Heroes award ceremony honors military and first responder heroes for their courage; sacrifice, selfless service, patriotism, compassion and leadership.

David Shuler is a USMC E4 veteran who served honorably from 1998-2002. He also follows a family line of veterans, including an uncle who served in the Army, and 3 of his grandparents served in the US Navy during WWII. He is also an advocate for autism because of his son, Carson, who is an avid artist and kaiju enthusiast. David’s MOS was Small Systems Computer Specialist. He was involved in many facets within the 1st Marine Division HQ network and infrastructure during his time in service. “Earning my EGA and becoming a Marine is a big part of what made me who I am today and I carry much that with me still today”.

David Schuler will receive his honors at our Focus comics Heroes Event May 2nd at 3pm at Zinc Apartments Club House, Avondale. The USAF honor guard and different branches of the military, different agencies and dignitaries will attend this prestigious awards ceremony.

We will have professional photographers and a broadcst documentary film ethnographer attending to document the event. The heroes will be celebrating autism awarenss month with our autistic and special needs students as they graduate on our free hero art program celebrating autism awareness month.

We are still accepting students and award receipient nominations this month.
