Focus comic Kawaii food 6 week digital art program graduation event

On Saturday Focus comic held a graduation event for our free 6 week Kawaii food digital art program. We had 11 autistic and special needs student participate on this program. In celebration of our students accomplishments our students were gifted Wacom digital devices and a bag full of premium art supplies.

Our students learned advanced technical skills on how how to draw kawaii food characters whilst in the program. Our students were split into two groups to enhance social emotional learning by ability. The program included one to one coaching for those needing extra support. During the program our students explored 6 key human emotions in relation to facial expressions. They also developed their presentation skills and artistry.

Check out our students certificate of achievements:

The graduation event took place at Samurai comics store in Glendale where our students saw their art on display. Yvonne Wan our creator converted our students art into certificates of achievements that resemble a focus comic cover on the shelf for our students and their family to see. Many thanks to Douglas Hebert, certified art teacher and Yvonne Wan, Focus comic creator for teaching our students.

In-line with the food theme that we had with the art program, we also had the pleasure of having our friend Sonia from Sap n honey do a special art demonstration on how to create a rose display using charcuterie meats. Our students loved the mini workshop and the complimentary food.

Congratulations to all of our students including those who were unable to make it to the graduation event.
