Adrian Hakes served honorably for 6 years on active duty for the USCG. He continues to serve the country while working for the department of homeland security.

Medals of Distinction: Coast Guard Achievement Medal, DHS outstanding unit award & Coast Guard special operations ribbon

Adrian was assigned to a Maritime safety and security team (MSST) which are specialized units in the Coast Guard dedicated to enhancing maritime security and safety across the United States. The tactical maritime teams are equipped to conduct law enforcement operations, port security assessments, and emergency response activities. The teams collaborate closely with local, state, and federal agencies to safeguard vital maritime infrastructure, national borders, and natural resources.

Adrian is honored to accept the United Humanities project Heroes award for his service to the USCG and in protecting and serving our nation.
