Congratulations to our Focus Comic Police Academy Class of 2023 students who graduated at Avondale police station over the weekend. Our students learned how to draw an Avondale police and SWAT vehicle, had their art colored professionally like a Focus Comic cover (with the help of our creator Yvonne Wan) , met with their local police officers, learned about their role in the community and sat in a police car. The kids enjoyed sounding the siren, participating in the fun activities and they loved their celebratory and complimentary Wild bills soda and NYPD pizza. Many thanks to certified art teacher Douglas Hebert and Yvonne Wan for teaching the kids on this program. The programming included group and individual classes for kids with different abilities.
We thank our local police officers for their hospitality; for supporting autistic and special needs kids and for protecting and serving the community.
The kids love their certificate of achievements; Focus comic and official Avondale Police gifts.
