Focus Comic Free Blank Variant Comic Cover Workshop

This week, our Focus Comic creator taught our autistic and special needs students in person and on zoom, everything they need to know about drawing on licensed blank variant covers at comic con.

Our students enjoyed the free workshop where they got to legally draw their favorite characters on an official blank comic cover using complimentary Royal Talens soft pastels and fine liners.

Our students were taught how to accept commissions, how to design cover art, and how to use soft pastels as a new medium. Our students also studied some of the great masters known for using Soft pastels and applied new techniques to further their understanding of different mediums. Our students also enjoyed working on their art presentation skills by sharing their love for comics, particular characters and the ideas they wanted to share with the class. Check out the following art presentation by our autistic and special needs students. Thank you Yvonne Wan, for creating these films to promote our students talent:

Many thanks to Royal Talens for supporting autistic and special needs kids. Our kids love the soft pastels and fine liner gifts they received as well as the opportunity to explore a medium that would help them advance their art and express their ideas more creatively.

Love our project? Please support us in any way you can.
