“Meet Elijah, one of ourĀ free art camp students. He is autistic, non verbal and has down syndrome. Early childhood intervention through the arts can address wider societal issues like mental and physical health. We can achieve better individual and societal outcomes by fostering compassion, resilience and stronger communities through social initiatives like Focus comics. At Focus comics, a childs well being is central to everything that we do, in providing the extra support they need to feel loved, capable and supported in life. Every child deserves to be seen and heard for their unique attributes that they bring to this world. We want our students to develop into healthy young adults and so we help our students have healthy creative outlets of expression to uplift them and communicate their ideas, sense of self and identity through art. Art is especially important for those who are non verbal. Non verbal autistic individuals often struggle to exercise freedom of expression, in the absence of free art social initiatives such as Focus comics. Focus comics is a humanitarian project that has helped thousands of children in need in the past 10 years. Please support us in any way you can.” Yvonne Wan.
