Focus Comic Free Summer Camp – New Dates

We are announcing new dates for the next set of classes following the success of the Focus Comic summer camp that is free for autistic kids and young adults.

On July 6th the class will be a continuation of the class that took place over the weekend. The kids will paint the sculptures that they sculpted.

Focus will then have community outreach events in Michigan and San Diego.

The next new project will start July 27 in Phoenix. It will be a two part class, where the kids will sculpt a super hero mask using clay. We will then paint it a week later, on August 3rd after it has been fired professionally in the kiln. The masks cannot be painted before hand, as the clay will need to dry first, and be fired or they will crumble. Registration is now open for this new class. Class is free for kids and young adults with autism.

Doug will teach the kids valuable clay sculpting techniques such as how to make pinch pot monsters. The kids can then make their own creation.

All art materials will be supplied free of charge to the students, and the firing of the sculptures will be free to. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be included.

Each project will take approximately 90 minutes to sculpt, and 1 hour to paint.

Class starts at 1pm on both dates.

The projects will be ready to take home on August 3.

Completed projects will be photographed professionally in a photo booth so the kids can be proud of their art. Free photography provided courtesy of Film Ethnographer LLC.
