We have some changes to our creative team. Dave Beaty is no longer working on our social cause campaign due to family issues. The art work will now be drawn by professional artist Douglas A Hebert (also Elementary school Art teacher with experience teaching autistic kids) and Yvonne Wan (Award winning artist). Ian Dorian who is known for his work with Marvel, will be a contributing artist to this project also.
Yvonne Wan is also introducing a new internship program. Douglas and Yvonne will be in charge of the internship program where two candidates will have the opportunity to have their work published within the community page in the comic. We have already appointed Steffanie Silverheart (who is an aspiring artist and has autism) as our first intern. The second intern will be announced at the end of January (The general public may apply for this position through our website). We now have autistic representation within our creative team.
We are pleased to announce that we have just reached our funding goal to publish the comic. Thank you for supporting us! We are very excited about getting the comic published!
We would really love to have more community out reach events in 2018. So we would like to set up some new stretch goals. We would like to raise another $1,500 (Bringing the cumulative funding goal to $6,000) so we can have another community outreach event in Quarter one of 2018. Yvonne Wan would love to film and interview the general public and autistic families as a social cultural anthropologist at a community event in Q1 2018 to raise autism awareness and promote autism acceptance.
Please help us make this possible.
